It was another successful year for KC Design House at the Harrogate Homebuilding and
Renovating Show 2024, which is celebrating its 30th year.
Taking place at the Harrogate Convention Centre, the show is a much-anticipated event for people undertaking a new build or extending/renovating their existing homes, with 240+ self-build specialists and renovation experts exhibiting under one roof.
Enjoying record numbers through the doors, we were thrilled to meet home enthusiasts who had travelled from as far as Essex and Edinburgh to attend the show earlier this month.
This year, our thoughtfully curated display showcased our latest classic contemporary
kitchen with Ash veneered painted doors finished in a moody olive green, with contrasting graphite oak oil doors, trims, wooden slat detailing and a raised breakfast bar.
The finished stand measured 7m x 4.5m and consisted of a central island, tall bank, sink run, and luxury home bar with bi-fold doors. It was surrounded by a structure incorporating a ceiling with its own lighting system, adding more presence to the display making it easier for visitors to visualise the kitchen in their homes.
We complete our lifestyle kitchen designs with innovative appliances from leading brands, including Bora, Liebherr, Siemens, Miele, Wolf and Subzero. The show display featured the fantastic new XBO combi-steam oven from BORA, which attracted much interest, as did the Bora X Pure cooktops and the leathered granite worktops, which magnetised people to the stand to feel its unusual texture.
Our team worked tirelessly to ensure the kitchen was packed, delivered, installed and styled to perfection in time for the opening day. The finished result was very well received by everyone who visited the stand during the three-day show, and our in-house design team thoroughly enjoyed assisting with client enquiries and forthcoming projects.
Commenting on the show, KC managing director Richard Jewkes said: “This year was our
best Harrogate Homebuilding and Renovating Show to date.
“After a steady start on the first morning, the visitor numbers started to flow, and we were
visited on the stand by lovely, warm, inquisitive people keen to spend time with us, explore the display kitchen and learn more about our unique approach.
“This included existing clients, some aware of the brand and others totally new to KC, who had travelled from across Yorkshire and the Midlands, North East and North West.
“We had many meaningful conversations with visitors about how we work and their
upcoming projects. These varied from contemporary minimalist schemes to sensitive period property extensions and everything in between.
“The display received such positive feedback, with people particularly attracted to the green colour and the tactile nature of the natural stone as well as the room set itself. It succeeded in giving people inspiration and a genuine insight into our exceptional design capabilities and handmade quality.
“A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to chat with us, and thanks to the KC team for all their efforts across the weekend. The show was a very positive end to a very positive year for KC.”
